Ever have those moments where you sit in deep thought, contemplating the big questions of this world?
Now, you might be wondering what big questions a golden girl like me has to contemplate. You might be thinking I just lay around and look pretty all day. And you would be right. But sometimes, I do some thinking too.
That’s right, I’ve got the looks and the brains!
Well today I am have been thinking about birthdays. What exactly is a birthday anyways? A day to celebrate someone? Well, I am a golden girl and I should be celebrated EVERY day. But I am okay with some extra celebration.
Turns out, my birthday is coming up. My birthday is November 4, and I will be 8 years old this year. I know, I don’t look a day over 2. Pay no attention to those bleach blonde hairs around my eyes…
I was wondering why mama was talking about birthdays this morning. I mean, it seems a little early to be planning something special for me… but then I heard her mention my grandpapa.
Guess what? Today is my grandpapa’s birthday! I heard mama on the phone talking to him. He is out camping too. Which is good, because I know he loves to camp and I am glad he is doing something he loves to do on his birthday.
I have only seen my grandpapa once, and that was last summer when he came to see me for three weeks when I still lived in Alaska. But it didn’t take long for me to realize what a special guy he is. He must be, because my mama loves him a lot.
My grandpapa is a good guy. It seems to me that good people, even if they are not dogs, should be celebrated every day, even if it’s not their birthday.
I was thinking that when I see my grandpapa again I am going to love all over him. Even though it won’t be his birthday, I am going to treat him to some Josie snuggles and a special walk where I show him where all the good smells are (maybe he will appreciate it more than my papa).
Then I heard mama say that we will get to see grandpapa next month! And we will even get to stay at his house. This crazy trip just keeps getting better and better!
