Leda Lou here. So, mama and papa went out and bought some new bicycles. They are pretty slick if I do say so myself!
Apparently, mama got this bright idea that we needed some carriages to pull behind the bicycles. And she was looking at me when she was talking about it. Hmmmm....
So, a few weeks later a couple of big boxes showed up at the house. Mama started putting together these supposed carriages.
There were two. One for each bicycle. And they each had a puppy bed inside. Whoa there mama, now I'm REALLY suspicious!
She left them sitting in the living room for a few days. I sniffed them out a bit. So did Josie. Then, mama told me what they were for. Here you can see my "You want me to do WHAT?" face.
Yup, you guessed it. Me and Josie bear are supposed to ride inside them!
And so we ventured out. It was easy to get in. Mama was pretty happy, so I was smiling of course. It took a little more convincing to get Josie in, but eventually she did.
Mama was pretty excited, so I was too. She took the picture below, which she later called "the perfectly staged social media picture". Not quite sure what she meant by that...
I was getting lots of treats, so I was happy. Then we took off down the trail. Wind in my face, tongue hanging out, I was thinking this was pretty cool. Then I heard Josie start wailing...
Josie was crying like it was the worst experience of her life! I got worried, then I started to move, and noticed I was buckled in! WHAT?? I started to freak out! Mama stopped the bike and tried to calm me, but I just wasn't having it.
So mama let me out and I started to trot beside her on my leash. While Josie was still throwing her golden girl temper tantrum.
Everything was going great until I got a little too close to the bike... I really didn't mean to... but I did... I hip checked the front tire of mama's bike and down she went!
I didn't know what to think, seeing mama laying on the ground. Papa came a running! So I just stood there smiling like I always do - I don't think that made mama too happy though.
It was a long walk back to the truck. Eventually Josie came out and walked with me too. Mama scraped her knee up something awful, and ended up with a cracked rib too.
Poor mama. I really do feel bad. I hope she forgives me. It was along drive home. Papa was ready to bag the whole idea. But mama just said that apparently, we need more practice with these carriages. I guess time will tell!
