What can I say? It’s great to be me.
Today was quite the day. And I am thoroughly exhausted.
We started the day and I knew it was going to be a big one. But in all honesty, I had no idea what awaited me.
Papa unhooked the truck from the castle and we headed out for the day. Mama had her pack with her hiking gear. She rounded up water, snacks, and apples. Boy do I love me some apples. I wanted to eat them right then, but mama insisted they were for a snack later in the day.
We headed down the road and stopped at the Athabasca Falls. There were more people there than we expected.
Mama and Papa went to check it out while me and Leda anxiously waited in the truck.
They came back and said the signs confirmed that pups were allowed to be there. Why they had to check, I do not know. It seems golden girls like me should be allowed everywhere. But I take it all in stride.
We hopped out and were super excited. We had no idea what awaited us.
There were people everywhere, so I had to stick close to my Papa and Leda stuck real close to Mama.
People were looking at us. I wasn’t sure why. There were cameras everywhere and before I knew it, they were taking pictures of us.
There were people speaking all sorts of languages and I had no idea what they were saying. I kept looking at Papa to make sure everything was alright and we kept on going down the path.
We came around the corner and stopped. And that’s when it happened.
Before I knew it there were people all around me. They were ohhing and ahhing. I wasn’t sure why. Until it dawned on me – they were ohhing and ahhing over ME.
Apparently they had never seen such a beautiful golden girl before. And then some guy asked Papa for a picture. And then I had pretty girls standing next to me while I posed for their pictures.
I could tell one girl was really nervous as she scratched my head. So I stood right up on my hind feet and kissed her in the face just so she would know that she was safe with me. I wasn’t sure if I was convincing enough, and was going to do it again, but Papa said one was enough. So I went on posing for pictures.
We continued on our trail, and there were lots of people talking about us. But everyone was really nice. One guy even asked for a picture of all of us.
Wow. Who knew I was such a celebrity?!
