For the past week, we’ve been hanging out in Moab, Utah!
Moab is a very unique area, and sought after by many. Within an hour of driving time, you can find yourself at Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, or Dead Horse Point State Park. Just 20 miles south of Moab are the La Sal Mountains, which are part of Manti-La Sal National Forest.
Moab frequently becomes base camp for mountain biking, hiking, four-wheel driving and river expeditions!
This past week, Moab was the gathering place for the Xscapers Convergence. Xscapers is a community of people who prefer the minimalist, nomadic lifestyle of living in an RV full time, rather than owning a house and accumulating possessions. The Escapees RV Club also provides a lot of support and education to the RV Lifestyle.
Jason and I joined Xscapers when we first began full-timing. This week was our first time joining up with one of their many convergences!
There were close to 60 different rigs that converged together to hang out, share stories and adventures, while making new friends and memories! There were small campers, big campers, truck campers, fifth-wheels, Class A motorhomes, Class B vans, Class C motorhomes and even campers being pulled by semi-trucks!
Since there were SO many of us, we rented out the old air strip, just south of Moab. It proved to be an ideal spot! We lined both sides of the strip, and we had a gorgeous view of the mountains from our window.
There were various activities planned throughout the week. Everything from hikes, to mountain bike rides, Jeep rides, potlucks, St. Patty’s Day bash, Yoga, HIT workouts, and daily dog walks to lakes and waterfalls. Not that anyone can guess which one was Josie's favorite...
We all journeyed over to Dead Horse Point State Park, to watch their famous sunset over Canyonlands.
We made some great new friends! Lori, Mitch & their dog Kenai from Roadward Bound, Ane, Tommi & their dogs Mushy & Lily from The Dog is Driving, Bob & his dog Sasha, to name a few! We had a great time and hope to see everyone again down the road!
We are now on INSTAGRAM!
